WARNING! Please note that repairing the heating mat may result in a changed output. Consequently, do not repair across cable loops.
Repair
Repair of the Devimat DSVF is made by cutting away the defect piece of DSVF heating cable and replacing it with a piece of DSWB-10. Therefore, the following connection process must be carried out twice.
Stripping lengths for DSVF-DSWB
DSVF:
Strip the sheath 25mm.
Release the screen and twist it.
Strip the heat conductor 15mm.
Bend the heat conductor 7mm.
DSWB:
Strip the sheath 20mm.
Release the screen and twist it
Strip the conductor 7mm
CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS
Push a medium shrink tube – 4/1, 35mm – and a transparent shrink tube – Kynar 1/8”, 25mm – over the DSVF heating cable.
Medium Shrink tube – 8/2, 100mm is pushed over the DSWB cable.
Heat conductors and conductors are riveted together.
Push a transparent shrink tub – Kynar 1/8” 25mm – over the rivet and shrink it with a hot air blower.
Push a small shrink tube – 4/1, 35mm – over the connection, centre it over the river and heat it from the middle towards the end.
Shorten the twisted screens so they reach each other.
Rivet the screens.
Push a medium shrink tube – 8/2, 100mm – over the connection, centre it and heat from the middle towards the ends.
The connection has now been completed. Make sure the same connection between the DSWB cable and the other cut off DSVF cable end.
